Nokia G 20

Today we are going to discuss. Nokia has earned praise for its offering. Stock Android experience on its affordable smartphones. However, its latest launches have not seen much success mainly due to their unimpressive price to performance ratio with all that in mind how is the Nokia G 20 which is yet another mid-range phone from the company that applies the same formula. Well, let's find out in this review. Okay, the Nokia G 20 looks like any other affordable Nokia phone. We've seen so far its polycarbonate pack comprises subtle vertical ridges for a better grip and even a bit of a visual flare the circular camera module looks quite, unique in this price segment while its mirrored finish is something of a hair turner too. Here the G 20 is offered in two color options night and glacier okay. Moving on the power and the volume buttons on the right frame are fairly easy to reach and offer decent tactile feedback. Plus Nokia has integrated a fingerprint scanner onto the power button which takes about a second to unlock the device. You can also opt for the face unlock option but that's even slower anyway there's a sim tray and a dedicated google assistant button on the left besides this.

There's a 3.5 mm audio headphone jack and a primary microphone on the top. While you'll find a USB c port a speaker grille and a secondary microphone at the bottom on the front the Nokia G 20 flaunts 6.5 inches. Hd LCD panel with a teardrop knot for the selfie camera. The HD screen surely sounds a little underwhelming for the price but I have to say that I rarely faced any issues regarding the display sharpness force enabling 1080p mode on you tube gives a decent viewing experience here and videos look adequately sharp. Whereas normal UI and UX content are not subject to visible pixelation either Nokia G 20 is also wide one l1 certified for HD streaming on platforms like Netflix and amazon prime also the display can get fairly bright enough indoors although. It does struggle with visibility. When you're outside even on a fairly cloudy day colors, for the most part, look okay-ish on the screen.

It is a bit on the undersaturated side though apart from this. I found its touch response rate to be a little irresponsive at times as it failed to recognize touch input now and then over onto the performance the Nokia G 20 is powered by mediatex helio g35 chipset. We've seen this chipset in action in multiple budget phones in the past like the redmi 9c and the poco c 3and both of these phones cost way less than what the G 20 goes for as a result of the under powerful chipset everything from opening apps to playing games is an underwhelming experience on this phone apps take at least a second or so to load and hence not a joyful experience multitasking between lightweight apps is good though. Okay, moving on to gaming playing relatively less demanding games is also perfectly fine on this phone however comparatively GPU intensive. Games do take a toll on the helio G 35 for instance call of duty mobile starters by quite a bit under low graphics and high frame rates. While the gameplay becomes slightly better under low frame rates. While pubg mobile is stuttery even under the lowest graphics settings pubg mobile lite plays fine under smooth graphics and extreme frame rates similarly mobile legends bang bang is playable under high graphics quality with dismissible jitters on a few instances that being said the one thing. What I liked about this phone is the stock android experience. plus the Nokia G 20 falls under the android one program as well which guarantees two years of version and three years of security updates to this phone.

Now let's talk about its cameras the Nokia G 20 sports a quad-camera setup at the back which consists of a 48 megapixel primary a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a couple of 2-megapixel sensors for macro and portrait shots on the front. There's an 8-megapixel selfie shooter under ample lighting photos from the primary camera turn out fairly well detailed. Yet the phone does struggle to lock in focus ever so often the overall photo turns out over-saturated. When turning on auto hdr whereas it messes with the exposure by a bit as well contrary to normal photos the ultra-wide-angle shots dial down the saturation to a much more natural level hdr does not quite work well in the wide-angle mode and because of its low shutter speed shooting moving objects can result in visible coasting artifacts, unfortunately, portrait mode from the rear camera failed to work after a while in a couple of shots that I did manage to click the photos came off looking a bit over-sharpened whereas the edge detection is half decent only taking close-up photos from the macro camera is a struggle too because of its fixed-focus lens likewise under relatively sufficient lighting night time shots come off grainy and with very little detail. While it shoots soft-looking photos sometimes turning on night mode boosts the exposure a little but nothing more selfies from the front camera are just average too the dynamic range is pretty terrible whereas the photos look quite soft and the colors turn out muted in terms of videos the phone maxes out at 1080p 30fps recording from the primary ultra-wide and the selfie camera as expected the footages come off quite verbally in all three modes with especially blown out skies on the selfie video.

Anyway apart from the below-average cameras the Nokia G 20 shines the brightest in terms of its battery endurance. Had global is so confident in this regard that it says the Nokia G20 is a three-day battery pool under medium usage. I managed to net out eight to nine hours of screen on time on average and if your use case is relatively less demanding. I can easily see it lasting three days straight impressive charging it up, on the other hand, is quite a drag with the 10-watt adapter that uses the phone via a type c port it takes three hours to fully juice up the phone. Finally, the audio quality from the mono speaker here is nothing to write home about either it audibly struggles with dynamic range. When maxing out the volume plus the audio sounds completely flat with lowering the volume as well. To wrap it all up the Nokia G 20 is a pretty average phone. While its design clean stock android experience and battery life are somewhat of saving grace. It ultimately lags behind the competition. when It comes to performance maybe MediaTek helio g80 or g85 would have been a better choice for a phone at this price bracket still if you are a casual smartphone user who wants excellent battery endurance and a reliable software experience. The Nokia G 20 is a decent option for you so that was all for our full review of the Nokia G 20.
