Design and Build Quality
Infinix has excelled in the design and construction
of the Hot 30, featuring a glass front, metallic frame, and plastic back.
Opting for the sonic white variant, which exudes a sophisticated appearance
with its glossy finish, sets it apart from previous Infinix Hot smartphones.
The phone's size feels just right, allowing for
comfortable one-handed use. Positioned conveniently on the right side are the
power and volume keys, providing a comfortable grip. Doubling as a fingerprint
sensor, the power button offers swift responsiveness.
The back camera module integrates two primary sensors,
prominently featuring the 50MP main sensor. Infinix's design choice emphasizes
a neat and uncluttered setup, housing the sensors and LED flash seamlessly
within the back cover.
Display
The Infinix Hot 30 features a spacious 6.78-inch display boasting a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. Despite its large size, I found it manageable for one-handed use. This expansive display is ideal for enjoying media content and even caters to gaming enthusiasts, offering a 90Hz refresh rate that, while not the highest, still provides a good experience. Notably, the display is impressively responsive and delivers excellent color accuracy.

Infinix Hot 30 |
Compared to its predecessor, this phone introduces
notable upgrades in its display technology. I encountered no difficulties using
this screen outdoors in direct sunlight, as it delivers ample brightness for
clear visibility.
Performance
The Infinix Hot 30 is powered by the MediaTek Helio
G88 octa-core processor, combined with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal
storage. While not the latest MediaTek processor available, it remains capable
for the tasks at hand. Infinix positions this device as an entry-level gaming
phone, and the processor contributes to fulfilling that claim. Although a newer
processor would have been preferable for future-proofing, the current one still
performs admirably. Games like Asphalt 9 and PUBG run smoothly without
encountering any issues.
In day-to-day usage, the phone exhibited seamlessperformance. It effortlessly handled various tasks without any performance
hiccups. Multitasking between resource-demanding applications was smooth, with
no noticeable slowdowns.
Regarding its software, the Infinix Hot 30 operates on
Android 12 with the XOS 7.6 User Interface. The latest version of XOS doesn't
bring significant alterations, maintaining familiarity for users who have
interacted with it in the past two years. If you've used XOS previously,
navigating the interface will feel comfortably familiar.
Camera
Despite being a budget smartphone, the camera
application is impressively comprehensive. It offers numerous features that
even some high-end devices might not have. Upon opening the application, a wide
array of settings is visible.
Starting with the top panel, the first icon on the left
leads to the Settings menu. This menu allows users to customize the camera
settings according to their preferences. It includes:
· HDR mode, defaulted to Auto (can be completely turned off, enhancing the depth and dynamic range during shooting).

· Timer settings for 3, 5, or 10 seconds.
· Location tagging for geolocation.
· Horizontal level aid for maintaining a clear horizon in
photos.
· Volume button options for shutter sound or zooming.

Regarding video, there are three quality options: 2K,

transitions:

transitions.

singing or dancing.

clips.

mood and dynamics of the video being shot.
Additional modes like AR photography, Panorama,
Documents, Short video, Slow Motion, and Slow motion can be accessed in the
Settings under the Organise Modes tab. These modes can be arranged on the
bottom panel of the camera's display for easy access during shooting.
This camera app boasts a wealth of features, enabling
users to capture high-quality photos and videos with various effects, both day
and night. These features facilitate the creation of impressive visual content
directly during shooting, eliminating the need for extensive post-processing.
Audio and Connectivity
The Infinix Hot 30 is equipped with stereo speakers and
still includes the 3.5mm headphone jack, providing users with excellent audio
quality. It's worth noting the presence of the headphone jack in 2023, which is
a welcomed feature.
Regarding connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11
a/b/g/n/ac on dual bands, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, FM radio,
and USB Type-C 2.0.
While I didn't notice outstanding surround sound, I must
highlight that the audio quality is impressive when using
the speakers
directly. The stereo effect is noticeable, and unlike
some other budget phones,
there's no unpleasant, flat, or squeaky sound. The volume
level exceeds
expectations; the HOT 30 delivers ample volume. When
using headphones or an
external speaker, the sound quality is excellent,
ensuring a satisfying
experience without any letdowns.
Battery
The everyday performance of the HOT 30, a mid-entry device, is quite decent. Powered by an 8-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor, it incorporates two robust ARM Cortex-A75 cores reaching a maximum frequency of 2.0GHz, ensuring exceptional performance. Despite my tendency to keep multiple apps open simultaneously, the battery life held up admirably, lasting throughout the day without issues.

Infinix Hot 30 |
As expected, there was some slight lag due to the heavy
usage. The phone operates on a 5000mAh battery that offers prolonged usage,
supporting the simultaneous use of up to 18 applications. During my day out
capturing moments with my puppies through photos and videos, the battery
impressively lasted the entire day with more than 40% charge remaining by day's
end.
Moreover, the HOT 30 boasts an exclusive Power Marathon
power-saving mode, enabling the phone to remain on standby for an entire day or
operate continuously for 2 hours at a 5% limit. This eliminates the need for
carrying a bulky power bank everywhere. Additionally, Infinix has integrated
the phone with 33W fast charging technology, allowing for significantly faster
charging than its predecessors at 18W. With this, you can charge your phone up
to 55% in just 30 minutes, utilizing the Type-C fast charging cable provided
with the charger.

Design is a standout feature.

the display adds value, especially for gaming purposes.

storage within a sub-P8,000 phone is an absolute bargain.

commendable performance considering its price point.

battery and 33W charging is impressive.
ü The 50MP primary camera proves
its worth, especially in low-light scenarios, offering great value for its
price.
Cons
The
phone tends to attract fingerprints easily, requiring a case for protection.
•
Apart from its size, the display appears rather average.
• XOS
12.6 is a limiting factor for this phone's performance.
. The
brand's track record of lacking in software updates is a concern.
•
Occasionally, the battery life exhibits inconsistency.
•
The 8MP front-facing camera performs adequately.
Smart
MediaTek 6020 Processor
With its intelligent and robust MediaTek 6020 processor,
the Infinix HOT 30 5G smartphone ensures flawless performance, enabling smooth
operation across numerous applications, uninterrupted gaming sessions, and
seamless entertainment viewing. Being 5G-enabled, this phone offers
lightning-fast internet speeds, facilitating swift downloads, effortless
streaming, and hassle-free browsing.
IP53
Rated Splash Proof and Premium Finish
The Infinix HOT 30 5G smartphone boasts a chic and
fashionable premium glass-like finish, ensuring a trendy appearance that's
bound to catch attention. Its robust build, durability, and camera module that
match the phone's color contribute to its attractiveness. The chrome frame
further elevates the smartphone's aesthetic appeal. Additionally, worry less
about unexpected spills or water droplets, as this phone is equipped with an
IP53 splash-proof rating, safeguarding against water damage.
CONTENT CREATION and LIGHT GAMING
Please consider that this phone is designed for budget
gaming, so don't anticipate extraordinary graphics performance. However, for
its price, it performs impressively well. I tested various mobile games, such
as Genshin Impact and Apex Legends, on the Hot 30. Although we managed to set
the graphics to medium settings, maintaining a consistent 60 fps was
challenging. The HOT 30 incorporates the advanced Dar-Link 3.0 gaming engine,
enhancing its gameplay smoothness.
This new feature employs intelligent sensing to assess the load scenario, utilizing an AI algorithm to preload necessary resources, optimizing key elements like image and sound automatically. Notably, after gaming for over an hour, the phone exhibited minimal heating, taking more than 3 hours before any noticeable heat developed. However, I'd recommend light gaming as this phone isn't ideally suited for intensive gaming or competitive play. Nevertheless, it performed better than expected and didn't stutter significantly.

For an enhanced gaming experience, it supports
Link-Booming and UPS Signal Boost network optimization technology, ensuring
multi-network adequacy for faster data transmission on weak networks.
The camera, considering its price, performs decently.
Comparing it to higher-end brands wouldn't be fair as this falls within the
mid-entry-level range. It features a 50MP main camera with a wide F1.6 aperture
and 4 LED flashlights.
The rear camera captures colors and details quite well,
although it struggles in low-light environments. As for selfie enthusiasts, the
front camera is decent but not exceptional. However, the Super Night mode
utilizes AI algorithms and an f/1.6 large aperture to enhance low-light shots.
A notable advantage for on-the-go content creators, the
Hot 30 offers advanced editing tools supporting various templates, including
sounds, transitions, and special effects.
User Reviews and Feedback
Initial user reviews and feedback indicate a positive
reception to the Infinix Hot 30, praising its performance, battery life, camera
capabilities, and overall value proposition.
Future Expectations and Upgrades
Looking ahead, Infinix is expected to introduce updates
and enhancements to the Hot 30, further improving its features and addressing
any minor drawbacks, catering to evolving consumer needs.
Communication
Similar to many contemporary smartphones, the Infinix HOT 30 is compatible with two NanoSIM cards. The SIM cards operate in an alternating mode. I decided to experiment by simultaneously using my primary operators, Lifecell and Vodafone and encountered no issues with connectivity or mobile internet. The signal strength remains consistently good, without any network dropouts, ensuring uninterrupted mobile internet at regular speeds.
Regarding the microphone and speaker quality, both
performed admirably during my test calls. The communication was clear on both
ends, allowing for a seamless conversation.
In terms of communication standards, the HOT 30 adheres
to the following norms:
· 2G GSM B2|3|5|8
· 3G WCDMA B1|2|4|5|8
· 4G LTE B1|2|3|4|5|7|8|20|28A|28B|38|40|41(120M)
Regrettably, the device lacks support for 5G and eSIM.
However, I don't consider this a drawback for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the
imminent launch and full deployment of 5G in our country are anticipated.
Secondly, the absence of eSIM functionality isn't a downside as the smartphone
already accommodates two SIM cards.
Technologies, Wireless
The Infinix HOT 30 offers standard features
alongside some intriguing functionalities. It supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11
a/b/g/g/n/ac) with Dual Band compatibility, along with Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi
Hotspot, and Wi-Fi Display capabilities. What's particularly noteworthy is the
support for Link-Booming network optimization technology, a standout feature.
This technology enables simultaneous operation of Wi-Fi and mobile internet,
ensuring a seamless connection without interruptions. Link-Booming is designed
to prevent internet dropouts during critical moments and concurrently reduces
battery consumption by 10%, along with decreasing gaming ping.
Additionally, the device features Bluetooth 5 and
supports GPS,
GLONASS, and Galileo for precise location services. NFC
contactless payment
support is also included. Throughout the extensive
three-week testing period,
no issues were encountered with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or
NFC functionalities.
XOS shell and Software
The Infinix HOT 30 operates on Android 13 (Tiramisu) and
utilizes its own XOS shell. At the time of reviewing, the device was running
XOS 12.6.0. The XOS interface shares similarities with Xiaomi's MIUI, which I
found familiar due to my usage of a Xiaomi smartphone in my daily routine.
Navigating through XOS was seamless for me, as I easily located menus and
settings without any difficulty. Let's delve deeper into the XOS shell.
Swiping up on the left side opens the notification list while swiping up on the right side provides access to quick settings such as Wi-Fi, mobile internet, brightness, volume, torch, NFC, and screen recording. This menu is fully customizable.

and news section, which can be personalized or disabled entirely. Swiping left
on the home screen navigates to the secondary screen containing applications.
The number of screens can be adjusted to suit individual preferences, offering
extensive customization options. Swiping up on the home screen reveals the menu
displaying all installed applications on the smartphone.
Regarding the battery, the Infinix HOT 30 is equipped
with a 5000 mAh non-removable lithium polymer (Li-Po) battery that supports
fast charging up to 33W. The manufacturer claims impressive battery performance
on a single charge:
· 34 days of standby time
· 45 hours of call time
· 30 hours of video streaming
· 9 hours of gaming
Additionally, the HOT 30 incorporates a proprietary
solution named "Marathon Power" by Infinix. This feature enables the
smartphone to extend its usage, lasting an entire day in standby mode or
providing an extra 2 hours in call mode when the battery is at its last 5%
charge.
Infinix Hot 30 verdict
The Infinix Hot 30 emerges as a standout performer in the
budget smartphone segment, offering an impressive array of features, stellar
performance, and exceptional value for money. Its blend of quality,
affordability, and functionality makes it a compelling choice for smartphone
users.
